On Tuesday, March 3, 2026, San Antonio voters will participate in the Texas Primary Election. This election will determine nominees for local and state offices and shape decisions that directly impact our schools, neighborhoods, public services, and families.

Voting in a primary gives you a say in which candidates advance to the November election for national, state, and county offices. Your vote is your voice, make sure it's heard.

To vote in the March 3, 2026 Primary Election, you must be registered to vote by Monday, February 2, 2026.

If you are eligible and cannot vote in person, voting-by-mail is a secure and reliable option.

Important mail ballot deadlines:

  • Last day to apply for a mail ballot: Friday, February 20, 2026
    (Application must be received, not postmarked.)

  • Last day to return your mail ballot: Tuesday, March 3, 2026, by 7:00 p.m.

Skip the lines and make sure your voice is heard!

  • You do not have to meet any special qualifications to vote early in-person – if you are registered and qualified to vote on  Election Day, you can also cast a ballot during the early voting period.

Election Day:
Tuesday, March 3, 2026

Election Day is the final day to cast your vote in the Texas Primary. If you have not voted early or by mail, this is your last opportunity to make your voice heard.

  • Polls are open throughout the day on Election Day.

  • If you are in line by 7:00 p.m., you are entitled to vote, even if the polls close while you are waiting.

  • Be sure to bring an acceptable form of photo identification.
